About Us

It takes a lot of people to make a community, and a Finding Your Real is a thought community. Here are some of the main enthusiasts working to make Finding Your Real a useful and enjoyable online source for your life journey.

ML Hilton
Melodie Hilton, Grand Canyon 2019

ML Hilton, Founder Finding Your Real

Melodie is addicted to stories of every day life, finding humor in the mundane,  excitement in ordinary, and adventure in the effort.

In an increasingly global and connected world, she believes it is the times we leave “the road” that  life starts to really happen.

She is happily employed at a talented digital agency doing good work for businesses, and previously spent many years as a journalist.

Chef Kelly Macdonald, Off Road Chef

Chef Kelly Macdonald is a small kitchen expert. For 21 years he offered gourmet meal experiences for up to 300 guests onboard the Napa Valley Wine Train in Napa, California — working from rolling galley.

Besides being a talented chef, this outdoorsman kills it with a fishing rod. Kelly’s fish tales include, not only how to bring home the trout, but tasty and simple ways to make your meals deserving of your adventures.

An experienced hiker, he regularly packs in with family and friends to the deep woods of his childhood Sierra Nevadas and the camp cooking is always a highlight of the trip.

Chris TempletonChris Templeton began developing the Oh The Stories We Tell  model in 2003. Driven by a strong desire to more fully understand the dynamics of his personal and professional relationships, he has been exploring and developing the model ever since

Initially inspired by Eckhart Tolle’s, The Power Of Now, Chris began to understand how his self-talk drove him crazy in some parts of his life.  It’s that little story that rattles around in your head and doesn’t serve you. Chris’ tool offers a way to step back from the inner hamster wheel and give yourself an opportunity to look at the situation in a new light.
